Introduction
Hey, guys welcome back today we are going to discuss the interview I conducted with Mr. Padam Mishra sir.
Even if we don’t know him on screen, he has provided so many golden movies like Raees, BA Pass, Fukrey, Talwar, etc. Besides being a Casting Director, he is also an actor, a Second Unit Director, an Acting Workshop Director, and an Actor Trainer.
Additionally, he has worked as a Casting Assistant and Casting Associate in various movies. Padam Mishra was born on the 12th of August 1984 in New Delhi, India.
So in this article, I will try to explain my experience and the inspiration I have gathered.
Overview of Interview
After graduating from Delhi University, working at JNU as an actor, and earning an Acting Certificate from TIE and the National School of Drama, he has also served at the National School of Drama as a Theatre Expert for seven years.
Currently, he works for a company associated with the National School of Drama called Theatre in Education (TIE), which specializes in acting and teaching.
He started his carrier as an actor but now he is known as a casting director. When he wanted to enter Bollywood he worked as a casting director where Mukesh Chawla helped him.
Mukesh Chawla wanted Padam Mishra as a casting assistant as he has seen the potential of Padam Mishra the first movie that was cast by Padam Mishra was Amaal and his age was just 21 years.
But before his first movie as a casting director, he worked as a casting director and helped in many movies despite credit. But back then it was very difficult for him to bake through nepotism and with the help of some good people in the industry he was successful.

He has diverse filmography. In 2010 he worked in the movie Soul Having as a Casting Associate and Assistant Director (Second Unit Director) in 2010, and he has never looked back.
A part of films that became superhits, he has worked with some of the biggest banners of the industry. The films he has acted in include Bubblegum, Mausam, Shanghai, Chittagong, Kismet Love Paisa Dilli, Matru ki Bijlee ka Mandola, Rangrezz, Ek Thi Daayan, Fukrey, Lootera, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara, Dedh Ishqiya, Queen, Raees (2017), Shuddhi and Shuddhi.
He has worked as a Casting Associate on movies such as Kuku Mathur ki Jhand Hogayi(2014), Titli(2014), Margarita with a Straw(2015), Detective Byomkesh Bakshy(2015), Phantom(2015), and Talvar(2015).
He has been cast in movies such as Pairon Talle(2011), B.A. Pass (2012), Wedding Pullav(2015), Robinhood Ke Pote(2016), Maunn(Short Film)(2018), and Falsafa(2019). Various film festivals, including Los Angeles, London, and Chicago, selected Maunn.
He has also appeared in films such as B.A. Pass(2012), Matru ki Bijlee ka Mandola(2013), Kaun Kitne Paani Mein(2105), and Falsafa(2019).
He starred in the Amazon Prime Videos web series Mirzapur (2018) and in the Afsos(2020) Amazon Prime drama. Additionally, he has worked on TV shows like Zindagi ki Mehek and Kundali Bhagya. The two shows aired on Zee TV. He has also created a number of commercials.
What is his future goal?
The only motive that Padam Mishra has is to provide working chances to new potential actors/actresses and he wants to be a work giver in the industry of Bollywood.
What is the best work that he has done?
According to him, the movie BA pass was the most satisfactory work he had ever done. As BA pass is a different type of movie category which is a movie loaded with lots of emotions.
What was his dream when we first time came to Mumbai?
The only dream he has is to work with Vishal Bharadwaj because he was inspired by his movie Omkara. So he actually wanted to work with the most recognized directors in the film industry.
How a new one can get to work as an actor in the film industry?
Padam Mishra says that to become an actor a person needs two things talent and a chance to work.
First of all, talent to be an actor. There is always an actor in every person after the booming of youtube, TikTok, reels, etc peoples are more interested in acting and hence many new talents are blooming.
Secondly, if a person wants a chance to work as an actor he or she should propose to a casting director which anyone can do by finding the contact details on the internet and contacting them with some of your portfolio of sample works and hence anyone can get the chance. But there should be a talent for acting not looks and one should get some training.
Conclusion.
Padam Mishra is a humble person and a good guy, from his story we can learn that if any person takes the decision of doing something and have great determination then that person will be successful and he or she will not lose hope if he or she faces failure. So I very much hope to see Padma Mishra sir’s new movies with an interview and I wish that he will get the respect and the position in the film industry that he deserves as an actor.
